Grace Jones is a multi-talented artist. She had been actively involved in US entertainment industry since 1973 by way of modelling, singing and acting. Around 20, I read Jussi Kantonen's and Alan Jones's book 'Saturday Night Forever: The Story Of Disco', an excellent book by the way, and found out that before the eighties hits, Grace was an underground disco diva who released three essential disco albums: 'Portfolio' (1977), 'Fame' (1978) and 'Muse' (1979).

Disco is a boxed set of three Grace Jones’s albums released in 2015. Audacity 1.3.7 download for mac. The set contains Portfolio (1977), Fame (1978), and Muse (1979), all of which were recorded at Philadelphia’s Sigma Sound with disco pioneer Tom Moulton as producer, in their entirety. The albums were remastered and each of the 3 CDs included 7 bonus tracks while the vinyl box maintains the original track listings and offers a fourth record, that collects mainly long versions of the 45s from this era.

Disco mix king Tom Moulton produced these tracks at Sigma Sound in Philadelphia using the same musicians Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff held hostage for their sessions. The results are quite different: though polished, these tracks don’t jump out at you. It’s really a producer’s album. Moulton probably had these tracks completed long before he knew who was going to sing them. Give Grace Jones credit though, she gives credence to old fuddies like “Send in the Clowns,” “La Vie en Rose” is lilting, and “I Need a Man,” displays a vulnerable Jones.
