Want to improve this question? A shape key is a difference effect on a mesh.So for better controlling faces, or elbows or shoulders etc.You can add shape keys, their effect is visible based upon their weight setting. So setting their weight value back to zero will return your original mesh again. If you worked with linked blend files, sure then you would need to reload(update) if you do this a lot in post production. However one can also create several situations first (angry face/happy etc).Alternatively if its only a few characters you dont link it, but import it.BTW its an interesting video that you found!
.What is the disadvantage of Blender software? And it is hard to restore.
Although it may seem that there are more disadvantages than advantages. D1 - Unit 31 Animation Comparison of specialist software for animation. Blender: Blender is a 3D animation and rendering program that is similar to 3DS MAX and Maya. What springs to mind. For Blender Blender's UV tools are fantastic. Setting an object's 'origin' is not a fidgety as Maya and can be done to the exact micrometer.Poly modeling in Blender is quick and accurate when you learn the hot keys. G,XX,0.02 LoopTools!
This is a plugin that ships with Blender that makes modeling a joy. Want a perfect circle? Want to space those edge rings evenly? Need a little less harsh on those loop angles?Honestly, this one little python script save days of tweaking. Haven't seen it's equal in any package, paid or otherwise. BSurfaces is kinda neat too.For Maya Maya's modifiers ( bend, twist, taper, etc.) beat the pants off of Blender's, which are unintuitive and clunky. Blender's FBX export is hackish without the option to zero out armatures nor adequately compensating for dissimilar Up axis.Blender's 'undo stack' is unpredictable, and not really a stack.
Maybe you could give us some more details on what you are planning on doing so we could better advise you. I'm not a Blender expert by any means but I am a professional who has used just about every package and I think that Blender can hold it's own against any of them. I found Blender while looking for solutions to Lightwave's poor animation tools and have found it quite competent at just about any task. If you're thinking about starting a production and wondering what to use. Every package has it's pros and cons.
There is no 'perfect' package. AdvantagesMost productions use a pipeline friendly tool like Maya and build on it to make it what they want. Small productions do not have the luxury of writing a bunch of Maya tools so they usually use multiple packages (i.e.DNA used Lightwave and Maya to make Jimmy Neutron then Maya and Houdini to make Ant Bully).
Hope this helps. Maybe you could give us some more details on what you are planning on doing so we could better advise you.Hey thank you, well we use maya as the 'base' program. The only thing we really do inside maya is rigging and animation. Modeling, siumlations and rendering is done whit other programs. Blender has come a long way so i thought it might be a good way to cut down on some unnecessary cost. I'm not really worried about the animation since you can learn to do that in any program pretty fast.
The rigging is an other deal, our rigs are pretty advance at times to make extreme cartoon animation so blender has to be up to par rigging wise and we need to be able to find good riggers. So any examples of great reels to show off what blender is capable off and what kind of talent is out there is appreciated. Thats it really, Thank you all so far for all the input =). The 'Mancandy' rig, although now a tad long in the tooth, was built to showcase some cartoony squash and stretch. You can watch 'The Mancandy FAQ' series on Youtube or download via torrent. The torrent link from Blendernation goes to a dead torrent site, so search for 'Mancandy FAQ' using whatever indexing site suits yer fancy. ( it is released under Creative Commons ) Originally built with Blender 2.45, it has received a fan update to play nicely with Blender 2.5 series. Should be fine under 2.6 A little video addendum on Vimeo: And the updated rig. Class notebook tools preview for onenote 2016 for mac.
