I rely heavily on reliable Laptop Cooling Pads in order to keep my laptop working without overheating. As a blogger and website designer I work sometimes 20 hr. Days with a lot of graphics, and unable to function without a good cooling pad.I have tried many, and each of them have landed in the trash can.
Either the fans quit working, not enough air, or just die less than a few months. Having a 17” laptop, (I love), it is also difficult to find one to fit this size. Most of them are made for the 15”, and have tried those, but too short. A big plus to have the over sized version. With a bad experience of another similar model from Amazon, I recently purchased (it worked great for one month and five days and died). Since I liked the function, the three fans,. Don't let the price of this Laptop cooler fool you. This is a very solid well built cooler with more options than the other cooling fans out there.
I bought 7 of these at Christmas time and I only had one that had a slight problem. But absolutely will buy more of these cooling fans.
We use them on our Laptops but also as a cooling device for our Sony Play Stations, and XBox gaming systems.I like the detachable cable that can be replace when it goes bad and you don't have to throw the cooling fan away, which happened with the other more expensive brand of cooler I purchased. I don't know why there aren't more laptop coolers that allow you the freedom of modding it to your liking because it would sell amazingly well. I bought the U3 Plus with the intention of doing just that after seeing a review on Youtube that gave me an idea of clearance and space for fan sizes.
Unfortunately this was the only real option I came across for being able to mod it.I came from a crappy Technet Cooling Pad with slow fans that made ticking noises and hardly pushed any air. Temps never changed on idle or load from what I could tell and with a gaming laptop like the Sager NP8652 it heats up pretty quickly. I've played a lot of PUBG and Grim Dawn lately and it's normal for CPU & GPU temps to hit 80c.
Are those temps safe? Of course they are, but heat kills electronics.
I recently received a ASIN:B01MRW12RC ASUS ROG Strix GL553VE 15.6' Gaming Laptop GTX 1050Ti 4GB Intel Core i7-7700HQ 16GB DDR4 256GB SSD + 1TB 7200RPM HDD RGB Keyboard which I have converted from a gaming computer using Microsoft Windows to an audio/video computer using a GNU/Linux operating system. Some video production programs use a LOT of computer power, sometimes almost 100% of the processor's power. This computer gets quite warm when using such programs and its internal fan runs very fast (and quite noisily).Several months ago, I had received an ASIN:B015P3SO22 Alienware AW17R3-7092SLV 17.3-Inch FHD Laptop (6th Generation Intel Core i7, 16 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD + 1 TB HDD, NVIDIA GeForce GTX980M,Windows 10 Home),Silver, a gaming computer I also converted to Linux. At the time, I wanted a laptop cooling stand and, though this particular computer does not run warm, I bought this ASIN:B00DDC3TCI Zalman NS2000 High Performance Latop. What a great idea for laptop users!
I usually sit on the love seat when I use my computer and watch TV at the same time. My lap gets so hot, and I typically grab a throw to put under the computer to keep the heat off my legs. I just started using this device, and it is really effective at keeping the laptop cool. Although there are two fans in it, it does not make a noise like you might think. It is very quiet, lightweight and cools perfectly. Its plugs into your computer for power and does not run down the battery if you have your laptop plugged into an outlet. I would recommend this laptop cooler if you would like the computer to be more comfortable when on your lap.
Plugged it in and turned it on full blast and I was shocked that at “2500 rpm” the fans didn’t just belt out air. This is way better than a previous vacuum fan I ordered. I have been having problems with my laptop over heating (temps ranging anywhere from 85 C - 95 C when trying to multitask or play any games on it. It IS a gaming laptop, but those temps were messing with the performance so yeah, gaming not so great.) and really needed something to help pull the hot air out of the system, yet I also wanted to have the ability to continue using my 12 cell battery (which raises the back of the laptop, thus it is not allowed to sit flat like most other vacuum fans I saw require); as well as the an additional Cooling fan underneath the system. This fan allows both of those, while offering a superb performence for automatic fan speed, and the sound is no louder than the fan that is IN my laptop. I have tried several laptop coolers such as kootek, havit (5 fans), and deepcool N9, but so far this is one has the best fan locations for my laptop (ASUS GL503VM). My laptop vents are located in the back half of the laptop so I really only need he middle fan and the two fans in the back running.
The other coolers I tried either didn't have the correct placement of the fans that suit my laptop or their fans are just aren't as powerful. It doesn't matter how good the CFM is if the fan placement doesnt suit the vent locations on your laptop. The fan CFM rating is 75ish according to the box (I will give them the benefit of the doubt and assume its exactly what they claim).
This cooler kinda looks similar to the HAVIT 5 but in my opinion they are a.
BestCooling Pads for MacBook ProiMore2020
Being tech bloggers, we travel everywhere with our laptops and know how hot they can get, especially when we're running programs with heavy processing use. We have tested many and found the perfect way to cool the heat from your MacBook Pro. Our tried-and-true favorite is the Thermaltake Massive TM.
Source: Thermaltake
The Massive TM by Thermaltake is a desktop-style cooling pad that's ideal for any size Mac laptop, from the 12-inch MacBook to the 15-inch MacBook Pro (and 17-inch notebooks, too), thanks to adjustable sizes that keep your device in place. It has two separate fans that draw cool air in from the bottom and push warm air out through the sides. You can set up automatic cooling with four separate heat sensors, or you can regulate the temperature manually, including giving it a turbo cooling boost. It also sports retractable feet, so you can adjust the angle of your laptop.
I've been using my Massive TM for a while now, and I've really been putting it through its paces. The one thing that makes it stand out from other cooling pads is its ability to track how warm my MacBook Pro is getting and then allow me to turbo boost the cooling process if things get out of hand.
The pad is large — maybe even a little too large. It's big enough to fit a 17-inch notebook, so my 13-inch MacBook Pro has plenty of space. The aluminum panel on top has four adjustable posts that you can slide around to fit your laptop. This keeps my MacBook Pro snugly in place without anchoring it on the cooling pad. The pegs are also spring-loaded, so if you accidentally set your notebook on top of one, it just flattens out instead of making your keyboard crooked.
When you set your laptop on the cooling pad, it senses the temperature. There are four sensor probes so that you can isolate any problem areas. When the fans are running, it'll cool your device by as much as 20 degrees. If you notice that, even with the regular fans running, your laptop isn't cooling down (like, if you're working extra hard with a particularly heavy processing program), you can hit the Turbo button. It will speed up the fans and send a burst of air upward.
Probably my favorite aspect of the Massive TM is the temperature display panel.
When the fans are running, they are relatively quiet as far as cooling fans go. I'm not saying they are whisper quiet, but you won't have to turn up the volume on your computer when they are running.
There are also retractable feet at the bottom of the pad, which allow you to adjust the angle that your laptop sits. The feet themselves have adjustable height, too. So, if you need a sharper angle, like to watch a movie, you can really get some tilt.
The fan is powered by a USB cable. It comes with a very short (I think it's about 8-inches) USB-to-USB cable. If you have the 2016 or later MacBook Pro, you'll need a USB A to USB C adapter, or at least a really long USB to USB cable so you can plug it into a power outlet.
Probably my favorite aspect of the Massive TM is the temperature display panel. You always know whether your laptop is running hot, thanks to the LED display. If you're in the middle of a game and notice that your MacBook Pro is running at about 85 degrees, you can turn on the fans and cool it down.
Pros:
- Adjustable typing positioning
- Fits almost all size laptops
- Targeted cooling for different areas
- Turbo boost cooling for extra hot spots
- Temperature sensor for auto on/off
